Ancestor of Pentacles

Guiding words/ideas:

Seeing oneself in the natural world; slowing down in order to receive wisdom of natural world; opening senses to absorb gifts of natural world; attuning to rhythm of the planet; practicing being still; accepting that all is as it should be.

Channeled guidance:

In this card, the Ancestor of Pentacles, there is a round orb in the sky, possibly a moon. And this moon is bathing the scene with the gentle glow of its beautiful light.

There are clouds in the sky. The mountain range is peaceful, and inside these peaks and valleys, there is a figure, a being created by the shape of the Earth. This figure is the Ancestor of Pentacles. This card is inspired by a mountain range in Pakistan. Humans love to see images of themselves in the natural world. As you experience this card, appreciate the hills and valleys of your own body. Understand that you have a deep relationship with the hills and mountains on this planet.

The Ancestor of Pentacles is the embodiment of the Earth itself. They are an ancient creature, so quiet and calm, so embedded in their landscape. Their wisdom is not spoken, sung, or danced; it simply permeates, exudes from their body, and impacts anyone who is open to it. To be a receptor of this knowledge of the Ancestor Pentacles, it is necessary to slow way down, for the vibration of the planet is much slower than that of a human being. One must attempt to attune to the rhythm of the planet.

In fact, slowing down is one of the bits of knowledge that this ancestor would like to impart on humans. Slow down. Connect. Accept that you are part of everything. Allow the tentacles of your being to intertwine with those of others. Allow the air to permeate your skin and enter your body. Allow the soil to enrich you, even if only with its smell. Allow yourself to touch the rocks, trees, and plants and to gently interact somatically, kinesthetically, with beings around you. Allow your ears to open and absorb the sounds of creatures you may never see: tree frogs, birds, insects. When there is water nearby or falling from the sky, allow the kindness of water to come in through your ears and soften your heart.

From time to time, allow yourself to be very still, as still as possible, knowing that this is a challenge with a beating heart and expanding and contracting lungs. What can you be aware of when you’re very still, and how might this practice impact your pace, your thoughts, and your very being? Can you be as still and quiet as the Ancestor of Pentacles? Can you allow wisdom to come to you and to enter you from your experience in the world? Can you accept that all is as it should be in this one precious moment?
