Nine of Pentacles

Guiding words/ideas:

Tapping into abundance; invitation to investigate how flow of abundance is blocked by systems; using one’s own gifts to help open flow of abundance; sharing resources; working with joy and connection, not fear or guilt; experiencing pleasure; enjoying absorption of resources and beauty of planet.

Channeled guidance:

This planet you live on is full of so much life and abundance, and this card encourages you to tap into that abundance without shame, fear, or guilt. It welcomes you to open the channel between your pleasure and the gifts of the planet and to allow yourself to feel joy through that exchange.

The image on the card is of a hummingbird sipping the juice of a grape directly from the fruit. A human hand is enabling this exchange. It’s a beautiful symbol for aiding others in receiving this abundance. The Nine of Pentacles offers questions for us to ruminate on. How can we help others to enjoy the abundance of this planet? How can we enjoy the abundance of this planet and also help others? How can we share resources so that the abundance is felt by all, not just a few? There are many systems in place that human societies have created, and some of them block the easy flow between what the world has to offer and what Earth creatures need to survive and also enjoy their experience of their lives. And for humans, because you are part of these systems, it is important to step in and engage, to understand that there are ways in which barriers interrupt the flow and make the lives of some very difficult, even miserable and traumatic. So take on this responsibility inside your society, inside your systems. Think of yourself as having this hand that is enabling the hummingbird to feed. What can you do to help other beings be nourished?

This can happen in many ways. Engaging with the sharing of food is one way. Broadening access to resources is another way. It is always important to tap into one’s own skill set and use your energy wisely. Think about how you can use your unique talents and gifts to open up this flow of abundance to others. Be creative in your approach and try to work with an attitude of joy and connection rather than of fear and guilt. The state of your mind and emotions impact how you interact with other beings, this flow of abundance, and how it feels to beings on the receiving end.

Keep your attitude light, for this card is so much about pleasure. Can your work in aiding others be full of pleasure? And can you also make sure in your work that you are also engaged in tapping into abundance and that you are also engaged in joy and the pleasure of receiving? All beings are connected; you just need to find where those connections have been disrupted. Take the time to mend and repair, and then rejoice when things become whole again. Your planet is indeed a beautiful and prosperous place for you to live and explore. Enjoy it and relish the sensation of the absorption and intake of beauty and sustenance.
