Two of Cups

Guiding words/ideas:

Meaningful exchange; a dance of love between two beings; both entities benefit equally;  energetic exchange; vulnerability is required; allow the interplay to be dynamic (not static); be grateful for all the support you have received.

Channeled guidance:

It is a beautiful thing that can happen between two beings who love one another—a meaningful exchange of thoughts, dreams, fears, and intentions. There is potential for balanced giving and receiving—so balanced that one cannot tell who is the giver and who is the receiver. Both entities benefit equally. This interchange is so precious that it allows both of these beings to learn and grow and aspire to become their highest selves. The energy goes back and forth and back and forth.

In this card, there are two hands (one above and one below), each holding a cup. The cards can easily be rotated so their positions can be changed. Neither hand is greater than or less than the other. Magical wisps and swirls of energy are rising and falling. That energy impacts the other in profound ways, sometimes in ways that words cannot describe. This image portrays two human hands, but this exchange can be between any two beings.

To be engaged in this kind of elevated exchange requires that one is vulnerable and trusts the other. These properties of flow, trust, exchange, and vulnerability are not static. This is a dynamic situation, a dance of love. At times, the dance will be easy. Other times it will be very difficult. It will be fast. It will be slow. It will move out in great arcs and come back to express itself in tiny, little movements and ideas. Allow that interplay to be dynamic. Don’t expect it to stay the same. Allow it to change, as you and yourself change and as the other in this beautiful dance changes.

And when you feel the profundity of love in this way, even for a moment, let gratitude wash over you. Let yourself recognize that even though this is a play between only two, there are a myriad of other beings that have helped to support this particular relationship, and there are dozens, thousands, possibly millions of instances that have led to the bond and the beauty that is playing out.
