Seven of Cups

Guiding words/ideas:

Difference between abundance and overwhelm; making choices; which plants do you want to nurture and nourish; connection with New Moon and setting intentions; reflecting internally and externally; listen and choose.

Channeled guidance:

There are so many beautiful and interesting plants in this card. Each cup has a different plant growing out of it, unique in its color, shape, and form. And the human hands above are opened as if to say, “Look at all I have. Look at all of these amazing plants. Each plant is an opportunity. I have so much.”

There is a difference between abundance and overwhelm. For in this card, there are actually too many different plants growing, too many opportunities, too many ideas. And so it is time for this human to make some decisions. “What shall I nurture and nourish? Which plants do I want to grow? And how can I help them to grow?” They might choose just one plant, or it might be a few; but certainly the suggestion is that seven is too many. In a way, this is a perfect card for the New Moon. At the New Moon, it is time to grow new things and to decide which things we want to nourish.

This offers an opportunity to reflect internally and externally to see what is going on in your life. And to also check in with what is going on in your heart. What are the things that are stirring you? What brings you joy? What allows you to feel both connected and in service to the greater good. Can you just work with those things and give the other plants away? They don’t need to die. They just need to be in the right hands. Which plants do your hands want to hold, help water, prune, tend to, and then even harvest when the time is right?

If you choose well through this process of external and internal listening, you will be rewarded with a meaningful bounty, and this harvest will flourish without depleting you. So listen and choose, and delight in what comes.
