*”The Hanged Man” in a traditional deck.
Guiding words/ideas:
This card holds a message about unusual alignment and the spaces in-between; finding a state of grace in confusion and discomfort; new perspectives and ideas; mental growth resulting from confusion; the energy in the space between things; inviting uncertainty.
Channeled guidance:
The Suspended One is comfortable, playful even. Even though they are upside down, they are in a state of grace. They are open to new perspectives and new ideas. They are willing to change the narrative and to see things from different points of view. And they are comfortable being uncomfortable. The Suspended One accepts that these confusing areas are often where the most growth occurs and where lightness is available. When one is confused, new areas in the brain open out, and new possibilities arise.
n this card, we see a human hanging upside down from some kind of edge or line. And there is energy on the line. There’s color blossoming right there. That is the energy of the space between. One might view the line as a separation between two worlds, two realities, two realms, or different ways of being: right-side-up or upside-down, spiritual or physical, internal or external. The figure has its arms held open wide, inviting in this confusing situation. They have a halo, hinting that there is grace to be found in our discomfort.
The reader of this card is invited to look deep within and see where and how they feel discomfort when between two worlds or situations. And the encouragement is to move towards finding peace in that space in-between.
Plant and metal guidance:
Wild grape (purple atmosphere above the line, purple shirt): We are the bubbly magicians of the edges (of forests, our fields and our minds). We share with you our positivity, creativity and trickster capabilities.
Onion skin (orange atmosphere below the line): We are a reminder of the layering of experience and self. Layering provides complexity and strength, and we invite you to celebrate your unfolding as you discover yourself and your connections to other beings.
Copper oxide (light blue/green blooms/energy on the line): I magnify the properties of whatever plants I touch or impact.
Weld (golden halo): Our energy is dense, warm and saturated, bringing with it a feeling of solidity and calm.
